TEACHER IDENTITY UNDER CONSTRUCTION
MEDIATION AND TEACHER EDUCATION IN DISTANCE EDUCATION
Keywords:
Teacher identity, Pedagogical mediation, Distance EducationAbstract
This article analyzes how interactions in virtual forums and pedagogical monitoring contribute to the construction of teacher identity in teacher education within the Distance Pedagogy degree program at the State University of Ceará (UECE). The research, of a qualitative, descriptive, and interpretive nature, is based on the analysis of messages posted by students, focusing on expressions of dialogue, mediation, and collective knowledge construction. The discussion is anchored in authors who address teacher education and identity (Nóvoa, 2017; Pimenta, 2012; Tardif, 2014) and in the potential of Distance Education as a space for professional development and innovation (Libâneo, 2013; Scherer and Brito, 2014). The results indicate that virtual forums, when pedagogically mediated, act as spaces for reflection and teacher authorship, fostering identity building and professional development in digital contexts.
