TEACHER EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE

This article sought theoretical foundations for discussing teacher education for Specialized Educational Assistance, with an emphasis on the construction of the professional knowledge required to work in inclusive contexts. The study adopted a literature review approach, involving an analysis of relevant publications on the topic. It developed a theoretical review based on authors such as Tardif, Roldão, Shulman, Marcelo, Zeichner, and André, addressing the complexity of teaching, the importance of an inseparable connection between theory and practice, and the role of research in professional development. It also explored educational experiences and training models focused on inclusive education, highlighting the need for collaborative, continuous, and context-based practices. The study concluded that teacher education for Specialized Educational Assistance should recognize teachers as active agents of inclusion and school transformation, integrating pedagogical, didactic, ethical, and political knowledge.
