TEACHER EDUCATION AND INCLUSION AS A PRINCIPLE AND TRANSFORMATIVE PRACTICE
Keywords:
students with disabilities, inclusion, teacher educationAbstract
This study aims to reflect on teacher education from the perspective of inclusive education. To this end, a qualitative bibliographic research approach was employed to dialogue with scholars in the field. The results indicate that teachers, in general, still lack theoretical education articulated with practice, and that the challenges faced in the classroom go beyond individual performance, demanding collaborative work with other educational professionals and families. It is concluded that, beyond public policies for accessibility, greater financial investment is necessary to address teachers' demands—such as providing continuing education programs—since educators must be in constant academic improvement to address the needs and subjectivities of students with or without disabilities.
