QUILOMBOLA VOICES AND PEDAGOGIES OF (RE)EXISTENCE
BLACK WOMEN IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF AN ANCESTRAL AND SOCIAL JUSTICE EDUCATION

This article analyzes the educational practices of Quilombola women from Bahia, understanding them as epistemic subjects who build knowledge, pedagogies, and resistance strategies rooted in their territories. The research seeks to understand how these women, grounded in ancestral memories, religious traditions, and community practices, construct pedagogies of aquilombamento that affirm life and Bem Viver (Good Living). Employing a qualitative approach with ethnographic inspiration, the study is based on interviews with 20 Quilombola women and participant observation. The analysis reveals that their educational practices transcend the boundaries of formal schooling, expressing an aquilombado, insurgent, and decolonial Black feminism. By mobilizing orality, escrevivência, and ancestry, these women develop liberatory and community-based education projects, reaffirming that educating is also an act of healing, resistance, and the collective reconstruction of possible futures.
