CRITICAL PEDAGOGIES AND SOLIDARITY ECONOMY
Keywords:
Critical Pedagogy, Solidarity Economy, Social Transformation, ConscientizationAbstract
This study analyzes the intersection between critical pedagogy and the solidarity economy as perspectives aimed at fostering awareness and social transformation. Grounded in the contributions of Paulo Freire, Henry Giroux, Paul Singer, Hassan Zaoual, and Boaventura de Sousa Santos, it discusses principles such as dialogue, critical consciousness, praxis, solidarity, self-management, and the recognition of different forms of knowledge. The main objective is to analyze the convergences between these approaches, with the following specific objectives: (1) to examine their fundamental principles; (2) to identify points of articulation; and (3) to discuss their potential for building fairer, more sustainable, and democratic social relations. Methodologically, a literature review was conducted. The analysis indicates that the articulation between critical education and the solidarity economy can strengthen processes of participation, autonomy, and social transformation. The study contributes to expanding the debate on the relationship between education, economics, and the construction of alternative and solidarity-based arrangements.
