The editorial presents the trajectory of the Movimentos Docentes Research Group, created in 2010 at the Federal University of São Paulo, and its expansion into an international network dedicated to teacher education, research, collaboration, and scientific dissemination. Over the years, the group has consolidated initiatives focused on initial and continuing teacher education, research and extension projects, virtual communities, academic events, and internationalization activities, significantly expanding its reach in Brazil and abroad. This trajectory includes the creation of the International Congress Movimentos Docentes and the growing production of proceedings, edited volumes, and scientific publications developed through institutional and editorial partnerships. In this context, the creation of the International Journal Movimentos Docentes – MOVDOC represents a new stage in this collective journey, establishing a publication space devoted to Education, Teacher Education and Practice, and Sustainability. Its first volume, launched in December 2024, forms part of the celebrations of the Group’s 15th anniversary and brings together five relevant studies, reaffirming its commitment to open, plural, collaborative, socially engaged science and to the appreciation of research and the teaching profession.
