Abstract

The poem “Decaimento” combines scientific language and poetic expression to address experiences of loss, transformation, and estrangement. Through references to radioactivity, half-life, heavy metals, and chemical elements, the lyrical voice constructs images of a body and an existence marked by deterioration and by the impossibility of returning to a previous state. Science and subjectivity intertwine, creating a sensitive reflection on interrupted dreams, infertility, displacement, and identity, in a composition in which scientific vocabulary takes on a strong metaphorical dimension.
